Improve `read`/`write`/`pread`/`pwrite` consistency. (#7860)
* Documentation consistency.
* Improve consistency of `pread`/`pwrite` implementation when given length.
* Remove HAVE_PREAD / HAVE_PWRITE - it is no longer optional.
