2008-10-25* lib/csv.rb: Fixed a bug in read_to_char() that would slurpjeg2
whole files if the encoding was invalid. It will now read up to 10 bytes ahead to find a valid character boundary or give up. [ruby-core:19465] * test/csv/test_features.rb, test/csv/test_table.rb, test/csv/test_row.rb: Loosened some tests to check for a compatible? Encoding instea of an exact Encoding. [ruby-core:19470] git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@19931 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2008-10-18* test/csv/*: Renamed tc_* files to test_* to fit in within Ruby'sjeg2
testing process. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@19843 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e

rb_eConversionUndefinedError. (rb_eConverterNotFoundError): renamed from rb_eNoConverterError. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@19554 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2008-09-21* lib/csv/csv.rb: Reworked CSV's parser and generator to be m17n. Datajeg2
is now parsed in the Encoding it is in without need for translation. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Improved inspect() messages for better IRb support. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Fixed header writing bug reported by Dov Murik. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Use custom separators in parsing header Strings as suggested by Shmulik Regev. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Added a :write_headers option for outputting headers. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Handle open() calls in binary mode whenever we can to workaround a Windows issue where line-ending translation can cause an off-by-one error in seeking back to a non-zero starting position after auto-discovery for :row_sep as suggested by Robert Battle. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Improved the parser to fail faster when fed some forms of invalid CSV that can be detected without reading ahead. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Added a :field_size_limit option to control CSV's lookahead and prevent the parser from biting off more data than it can chew. * lib/csv/csv.rb: Added readers for CSV attributes: col_sep(), row_sep(), quote_char(), field_size_limit(), converters(), unconverted_fields?(), headers(), return_headers?(), write_headers?(), header_converters(), skip_blanks?(), and force_quotes?(). * lib/csv/csv.rb: Cleaned up code syntax to be more inline with Ruby 1.9 than 1.8. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@19441 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2007-12-25* lib/csv.rb: Fixed test failures caused by changes to Ruby.jeg2
* test/csv/tc_serialization, test/csv/tc_csv_parsing, test/csv/tc_features: Fixed test failures caused by changes to Ruby. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@14662 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2007-12-25* lib/csv.rb: Import the FasterCSV source as the new CSV class.jeg2
* test/csv/*: Added all applicable tests from FasterCSV. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@14646 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2007-12-24* lib/csv.rb, test/csv/test_csv.rb: Removed in preparation for FasterCSVjeg2
code import. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@14639 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2004-05-27 * test/csv/test_csv.rb: illegal require module name (../lib/csv.rb).nahi
git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@6413 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2004-05-26 * lib/csv.rb (CSV.read, CSV.readlines): added. works as IO.read andnahi
IO.readlines in CSV format. * lib/csv.rb (CSV.parse): [CAUTION] behavior changed. in the past, CSV.parse accepts a filename to be read-opened (it was just a shortcut of CSV.open(filename, 'r')). now CSV.parse accepts a string or a stream to be parsed e.g. CSV.parse("1,2\n3,r") #=> [['1', '2'], ['3', '4']] * test/csv/test_csv.rb: follow above changes. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@6410 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2004-05-20 * lib/csv.rb: fixed a few bugs around multi char record/field separator.nahi
* test/csv/test_csv.rb: added boundary test for above feature. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@6377 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2004-05-18 * lib/csv.rb: writes lines with "\n" when row separator is not given.nahi
formerly it was "\r\n". * lib/csv.rb: [CAUTION] API change * CSV::Row removed. a row is represented as just an Array. since CSV::Row was a subclass of Array, it won't hurt almost all programs except one which depended CSV::Row#match. * CSV::Cell removed. a cell is represented as just a String or nil(NULL). this change will cause widespread destruction. CSV.open("foo.csv", "r") do |row| row.each do |cell| if cell.is_null # Cell#is_null p "(NULL)" else p cell.data # Cell#data end end end must be just; CSV.open("foo.csv", "r") do |row| row.each do |cell| if cell.nil? p "(NULL)" else p cell end end end * lib/csv.rb: [CAUTION] record separator(CR, LF, CR+LF) behavior change. CSV.open, CSV.parse, and CSV,generate now do not force opened file binmode. formerly it set binmode explicitly. with CSV.open, binmode of opened file depends the given mode parameter "r", "w", "rb", and "wb". CSV.parse and CSV.generate open file with "r" and "w". setting mode properly is user's responsibility now. * lib/csv.rb: accepts String as a fs (field separator/column separator) and rs (record separator/row separator) * lib/csv.rb: added CSV.foreach(path, rs = nil, &block). CSV.foreach now does not handle "| cmd" as a path different from IO.foreach. needed? * test/csv/test_csv.rb: updated. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@6359 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-12-28 * test/csv/test_csv.rb: generate bom.csv and mac.csv files on the fly.nahi
[ruby-talk:88852] * test/csv/{bom.csv,mac.csv}: removed. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@5327 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-12-12 * lib/csv.rb: add Cell#to_str and Cell#to_s for /.../ =~ aCell,nahi
"#{aCell}" and so on. * test/csv/test_csv.rb: add tests. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@5177 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-11-22* gc.c (Init_stack): stack region is far smaller than usual ifmatz
pthread is used. * marshal.c (w_extended): singleton methods should not be checked when dumping via marshal_dump() or _dump(). [ruby-talk:85909] * file.c (getcwdofdrv): avoid using getcwd() directly, use my_getcwd() instead. * merged NeXT, OpenStep, Rhapsody ports patch from Eric Sunshine <sunshine@sunshineco.com>. [ruby-core:01596] * marshal.c (w_object): LINK check earlier than anything else, i.e. do not dump TYPE_IVAR for already dumped objects. (ruby-bugs PR#1220) * eval.c (rb_eval): call "inherited" only when a new class is generated; not on reopening. * eval.c (eval): prepend error position in evaluating string to * configure.in: revived NextStep, OpenStep, and Rhapsody ports which had become unbuildable; enhanced --enable-fat-binary option so that it accepts a list of desired architectures (rather than assuming a fixed list), or defaults to a platform-appropriate list if user does not provide an explicit list; made the default list of architectures for MAB (fat binary) more comprehensive; now uses -fno-common even when building the interpreter (in addition to using it for extensions), thus allowing the interpreter to be embedded into a plugin module of an external project (in addition to allowing embedding directly into an application); added checks for <netinet/in_systm.h> (needed by `socket' extension) and getcwd(); now ensures that -I/usr/local/include is employed when extensions' extconf.rb scripts invoke have_header() since extension checks on NextStep and OpenStep will fail without it if the desired resource resides in the /usr/local tree; fixed formatting of --help message. * Makefile.in: $(LIBRUBY_A) rule now deletes the archive before invoking $(AR) since `ar' on Apple/NeXT can not "update" MAB archives (see configure's --enable-fat-binary option); added rule for new missing/getcwd.c. * defines.h: fixed endian handling during MAB build (see configure's --enable-fat-binary option) to ensure that all portions of the project see the correct WORDS_BIGENDIAN value (some extension modules were getting the wrong endian setting); added missing constants GETPGRP_VOID, WNOHANG, WUNTRACED, X_OK, and type pid_t for NextStep and OpenStep; removed unnecessary and problematic HAVE_SYS_WAIT_H define in NeXT section. * dir.c: do not allow NAMLEN() macro to trust dirent::d_namlen on NextStep since, on some installations, this value always resolves uselessly to zero. * dln.c: added error reporting to NextStep extension loader since the previous behavior of failing silently was not useful; now ensures that NSLINKMODULE_OPTION_BINDNOW compatibility constant is defined for OpenStep and Rhapsody; no longer includes <mach-o/dyld.h> twice on Rhapsody since this header lacks multiple-include protection, which resulted in "redefinition" compilation errors. * main.c: also create hard reference to objc_msgSend() on NeXT platforms (in addition to Apple platforms). * lib/mkmf.rb: now exports XCFLAGS from configure script to extension makefiles so that extensions can be built MAB (see configure's --enable-fat-binary option); also utilize XCFLAGS in cc_command() (but not cpp_command() because MAB flags are incompatible with direct invocation of `cpp'). * ext/curses/extconf.rb: now additionally checks for presence of these curses functions which are not present on NextStep or Openstep: bkgd(), bkgdset(), color(), curs(), getbkgd(), init(), scrl(), set(), setscrreg(), wattroff(), wattron(), wattrset(), wbkgd(), wbkgdset(), wscrl(), wsetscrreg() * ext/curses/curses.c: added appropriate #ifdef's for additional set of curses functions now checked by extconf.rb; fixed curses_bkgd() and window_bkgd() to correctly return boolean result rather than numeric result; fixed window_getbkgd() to correctly signal an error by returning nil rather than -1. * ext/etc/etc.c: setup_passwd() and setup_group() now check for null pointers before invoking rb_tainted_str_new2() upon fields extracted from `struct passwd' and `struct group' since null pointers in some fields are common on NextStep/OpenStep (especially so for the `pw_comment' field) and rb_tainted_str_new2() throws an exception when it receives a null pointer. * ext/pty/pty.c: include "util.h" for strdup()/ruby_strdup() for platforms such as NextStep and OpenStep which lack strdup(). * ext/socket/getaddrinfo.c: cast first argument of getservbyname(), gethostbyaddr(), and gethostbyname() from (const char*) to non-const (char*) for older platforms such as NextStep and OpenStep. * ext/socket/socket.c: include "util.h" for strdup()/ruby_strdup() for platforms such as NextStep and OpenStep which lack strdup(); include <netinet/in_systm.h> if present for NextStep and OpenStep; cast first argument of gethostbyaddr() and getservbyname() from (const char*) to non-const (char*) for older platforms. * ext/syslog/syslog.c: include "util.h" for strdup()/ruby_strdup() for platforms such as NextStep and OpenStep which lack strdup(). git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@5002 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-10-06* lib/csv.rb (IOReader, BasicWriter): call binmode when a given IOnahi
respond_to?(:binmode). record separator was wrong when you gave text mode IO to Reader.parse and Writer.generate. * test/csv/test_csv.rb: add tests for above change. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@4708 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-09-16* test/csv/test_csv.rb: add negative tests of row_sep.nahi
git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@4556 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-09-15* lib/csv.rb: add extra pamameter to specify row(record) separater character.nahi
To parse Mac's CR separated CSV, do like this. CSV.open("mac.csv", "r", ?,,?\r) { |row| p row.to_a } The 3rd parameter in this example ?, is for column separater and the 4th ?\r is for row separater. Row separater is nil by default. Nil separater means "\r\n" or "\n". * test/csv/test_csv.rb: add tests for above feature. * test/csv/mac.csv: added. Sample CR separated CSV file. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@4553 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e

2003-09-05* lib/optparse.rb (OptionParser#order, #permute, #parse): allow annobu
array as argument. * test/ruby/test_*.rb: moved invariants to left side in assert_equal, and use assert_nil, assert_raises and so on. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@4516 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-09-04* test/ruby: tests for ruby itself.nahi
* test/ruby/test_*.rb: split sample/test.rb into 28 test/unit testcases. some tests could not be translates... search '!!' mark to see it. * test/csv/test_csv.rb: should require 'csv', not '../lib/csv'. test runner should set load path correctly. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@4498 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
2003-09-04* test/csv/test_csv.rb: close opened files for CSV::IOBuf explicitly. openednahi
file cannot be removed under win32 box. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://ci.ruby-lang.org/ruby/trunk@4497 b2dd03c8-39d4-4d8f-98ff-823fe69b080e
